SKY WALK Świeradów-Zdrój – How About a Walk in the Clouds?

SKY WALK Świeradów-Zdrój – How About a Walk in the Clouds?

Just 2.6 km separates Izera Park from one of Świeradów-Zdrój's greatest attractions – the Sky Walk observation tower. It is one of the tallest structures of its kind not only in Poland, but in Europe. The place is undeniably worth visiting both for the magnificent views of the Izera landscapes and for the range of other attractions awaiting us during a walk in the clouds.

The Sky Walk observation tower in Świeradów-Zdrój

Standing on the slope of Świeradowiec, the Sky Walk tower is undeniably one of the most spectacular attractions of Świeradów-Zdrój. Rising to 62 metres, the structure – with its gently winding, wide wooden walkway with a low gradient (6.5%) and a length of 850 metres – allows for a pleasant stroll with beautiful views that become more and more spectacular with every step. From the Sky Walk tower you can see perfectly the panorama of Świeradów-Zdrój, the Kwisa Valley and the slopes and peaks of the Izera Mountains.

Opened in June 2021, the Sky Walk tower took 11 months to build. It was designed by the Czech architect Zdeněk Fránek, the creator of the almost twin tower "Sky Walk" (Path in the Clouds) that stands in the Czech village of Dolní Morava. The cost of the whole project was PLN 40 million. The tower can accommodate up to 4,000 tourists a day.

The structure of the Sky Walk tower in Świeradów is made primarily of steel and wood, and is clad in larch timber. The core of the structure is three steel towers arranged in a triangle. The facility is equipped with night lighting which does not interfere with observing the night sky from the top of the tower. Alongside the wonderful views, the tower also offers other attractions that provide a thrill and extra entertainment.

Sky Walk attractions:

  • The spider's web – a special rope structure spreading out in four directions, which makes it possible to climb to the higher levels of Sky Walk.
  • The intimate stage – a place where you can stand and take a group photo; various small-scale events are also held there, e.g. performances, concerts, lectures, etc.
  • The slide – a fast slide 105 metres long.
  • The drop – located on the last, highest viewing terrace at a height of 62 metres; it is a drop-shaped net stretched across the middle of the platform.
  • The glass platform – also located by the highest viewing terrace; it is a glass platform you can step onto, an attraction that guarantees strong and unforgettable sensations.

Along the railings of the tower, photographs of the visible panorama are placed with descriptions, so that we know exactly which peaks and landmarks we are looking at.

Sky Walk – a walk in the clouds for the whole family

Sky Walk is a great way to have fun for the whole family, even with smaller children who still travel in a pushchair. The tower can be reached without any problem. Next to the observation tower there are souvenir shops and food outlets where you can grab a bite to eat. On the side of ul. Dąbrowskiego there are many car parks, although most are paid.

Entry to the tower is also paid. Ticket prices are quite high and hover around several dozen złoty. Riding the slide is charged separately. Tickets can only be bought on site – they are not available online. Animals are not allowed on the tower, but special lockable kennels are prepared for them.

The Sky Walk tower is open all week. In the winter season (November–March) it is open from 9:00 to 17:00. In April from 9:00 to 18:00. From May to September from 9:00 to 19:00. In October from 9:00 to 18:00. During holidays, however, the opening hours differ, so it is worth checking them in advance on the Sky Walk website.

Izera Park – how to get to the Sky Walk tower?

You can reach the Sky Walk tower from the Izera Park complex by bike, by car or on foot. The distance to cover is just 2.6 km. A walking trip is best begun by joining the green tourist trail (entrance from ul. Zakopiańska) leading to the European Union Square in the centre of Świeradów-Zdrój – along the way it is worth visiting the Spa Park and the Spa House. Then we join the parallel red and blue trails. At the fork, we follow the blue trail (the Old Izera Road) straight to Sky Walk. The whole route in one direction can be covered in about 40 minutes. By car or bike you can reach the tower from the other side, heading for ul. Dąbrowskiego 8.
