A Gym in the Apartment Building – That's Already the Standard!

A Gym in the Apartment Building – That's Already the Standard!

As a healthy lifestyle becomes more popular, so does the demand for a space that allows you to train in a professional and safe way. It is no surprise, then, that gyms are appearing ever more often in modern apartment buildings, giving residents easy access to equipment that makes it possible to take comprehensive care of their fitness and health. What are the advantages of such a solution? And what exactly makes it become a standard?

A gym in the apartment building – why is it becoming the standard?

The modern way of life is, for most of us, very dynamic. Everyday life is filled to the brim with all kinds of duties. Work, family, home, and on top of that the permanently congested city streets and a chronic lack of time – and sometimes of energy and motivation – to get yourself moving and set off for a gym located several or even a dozen kilometres from home. Seen this way, a gym located in our block, tenement or apartment building is a solution thanks to which taking care of your health and physical fitness no longer seems so difficult and tiring.

Convenient access to a gym – a chance for a training routine

A gym in the apartment building means there is no longer any need to travel to a gym far from where we live and then return home. In this way we gain time and save the money we would have spent on fuel or public-transport tickets. A gym a few floors below is therefore a far more attractive prospect and a greater chance that we will be able to exercise regularly, because in such a situation there are far fewer obstacles to training. And those are not all the advantages of such a gym.

Professional exercise equipment within reach

You can exercise in various ways. In the comfort of your own home too. There are really many types of home workouts, both strength and aerobic. On the market you will also find a wide range of stationary bikes, barbells and weight benches, and even treadmills, which you can set up in your apartment. On the face of it everything is fine, but in reality it is worth being aware of two key issues that somewhat change the perspective on setting up a gym in your own home.

A professional gym – a wide choice of exercise machines

The first is that typical home exercise equipment cannot compare with the professional equipment found in gyms. Importantly, at a gym we have a choice of various kinds of machines that allow a comprehensive whole-body workout. In residential conditions it would be hard to fit all this equipment, not to mention that its cost is enormous. A gym in the apartment building, compared with exercising in the comfort of home, is therefore an option that will always be more advantageous in terms of training possibilities.

More free space in the apartment

The next issue is simply space. If we have an apartment of at least 100 square metres, we may be able to set aside a few metres for a small home gym, but what is the point of cluttering a smaller apartment with exercise equipment? In this way we lose valuable space, not to mention that it also affects the apartment's layout.

A gym in the apartment building completely solves these problems. We do not have to clutter our home space with exercise equipment; we have it within arm's reach – we just go down the stairs or take the lift and we are there. Nor do we have to waste money on exercise equipment, which most often will not be able to offer us as much as the machines at a gym.

A gym in the apartment building – greater comfort and privacy

An advantage of an exercise room in an apartment building is also that, unlike a traditional fitness club, it is a place to which a limited number of people have access. These are the residents of the complex and its guests. No one off the proverbial street can come in and exercise there. Thanks to this you can feel much safer and more comfortable, because we exercise in a shared residential space that is closed to random people from outside.

A gym in the apartment building – working out together with other residents

No one needs to be convinced that a gym in the apartment building is an additional asset for tourists using short-term holiday rentals. Thanks to it, people who regularly train at a gym where they live can continue their training during their holiday without unnecessary complications. They do not have to look for another gym or give up their training routine for the holidays.

For other guests, meanwhile, such an intimate gym in the apartment building can become the first step towards starting to train. A single day of bad weather and the chance to conveniently go down to the exercise room next door is enough to begin an adventure with exercise and looking after one's fitness.

In the case of permanent residents, an important and increasingly appreciated aspect of having a gym in the residential complex is the chance to integrate with the other residents. In this way the bonds of the local community are strengthened, which allows healthy neighbourly relations to be built – thanks to which residents can count on one another and feel safe among their own.
